How to Improve English Speaking
English is a difficult language to learn a second language because there are many rules to memorize grammatical and spelling of words are not always a good indication of the pronunciation. According to Palomar College, there are approximately 341 million native English speakers, and there are a considerable number of English speakers in 104 countries worldwide. Despite speaking English may seem natural to the English-speaking countries, people who speak English as a second language may need extra help to improve their English speaking skills.
1. Learn the rules of English grammar, including rules of word order, sentence structure, parts of speech, verb conjugation and spelling. Knowing these rules will make it easier for you to form intelligible sentences in English.
2. Take an English course at a school or community organization. There are English as a Second Language (ESL) available through a variety of groups, some communities have volunteer ESL literacy to help strengthen their communication skills.
3. Listen to native speakers of English ideas about the correct pronunciation, word formation, jargon, and changes in speaker label. Linguists will tell you that the rules for correct speech lies with the mother tongue, so you will probably learn more by observing others instead of following the strict guidelines of a textbook.
4. Immerse yourself in the language with native speakers and surround himself forced to speak English as much as possible. Do not worry about making mistakes in front of native speakers, because their mistakes only improve your ability to speak at length.
